Is it gonna snow? (I dare you to read this whole email)

Yo yo yo!! I miss all yall, my family, friends, fellow missionaries, etc. I want you to know how extremely grateful I am for each one if you! I'm grateful for the impact and the role you've played in my life! Thank you for the support and for the prayers! This week honestly started out a little rough.

Tuesday- was exchanges (where I go with another missionary and that missionaries companion comes with my companion) it honestly was tuff because my companion and I set up our whole day that day with service, a lesson, a dinner, some great finding activities and members. So it was hard to plan all that and not have the chance to do that! But in grateful for the things that I've learned, I'm grateful for that struggle and the other trials that I face! If it weren't for those discouraging, hard, frustrating, and heartbreaking times I wouldn't be the person I am today AND I wouldn't see the many miracles that are happening out here!!

Wednesday- I read a talk in the morning with Elder Payne called, " value of work" by Richard Clarke koi! This is a great talk it's so crazy that after we read this! We were booked with so much service the rest of the week, working hard. This talks just speaks on the importance of hard work! I'm just got quote two things and leave it at that! I want you to think about it

1. "Work is honorable. It is good therapy for most problems. It is the antidote for worry. It is the equalizer for deficiency of native endowment. Work makes it possible for the average to approach genius. What we may lack in aptitude, we can make up for in performance."

2. "the Lord knew that from the crucible of work emerges the hard core of character."

After this talk is when we got three referrals that day from our post of free service! We went to this ladies house, she had been hit by a bus 3 years ago and was paralyzed but slowly recovered to be able to walk and move a little! She had a big house but had no money cause she could not work, she had to sell her house and move in with her brother so we were helping her clean the house and her huge yard! We worked for her roughly for 6 hours! We got SO MUCH DONE! She was extremely thankful for us! Elder Kua from our apartment got a call while we were working and hes headed back to South Korea.... :( sad but I'm excited for him! He leaves in 7 days HOLY COW!!

THURSDAY- THANKSGIVING YAYAYA

Thanksgiving was definitely my high this week! I needed that time to set aside and be grateful for the things in my life and the people in my life! In the morning we played in a Turkey Bowl with our stake, YSA and some missionaries weve become SOO CLOSE TO! we then came home and got ready for our three dinners, we headed over to the Homans house! They are a super nice family with a 18 year old girl, 14 year old boy, and 12 year old girl!! We had a fantastic dinner and the little girl, Lily, said "hey aren't were we gonna say what were grateful for?" We were all so happy she said that! Especially me after I felt the emotion and the gratitude everyone had in their family and that chance Elder Payne and I had to say what were grateful for! Weve became really close with this family!! The next family we went to was the Cruzados! They are amazing we ate and talked but we had a very powerful experience

We were sitting and the dad comes in and asks us if we can give his sister a blessing and we said of course! We came into the front room where she was sitting on a chair, we asked for her name and were about to give her a blessing of comfort! BUT.. We stopped and were prompted I know from the Holy Ghost to have the nephew do it, he just got his mission call and it felt right to have him do it! We all put our hands on her head and he went ahead with the blessing, I will never forget the feelings I felt, it was powerful. I felt Mirums struggles, I felt her pain- but most of all I felt the love and comfort she received! Everyone was in tears at the end! She gave us hugs and said thank you so much! I'm so extremely grateful to have been in the circle and to help out and also for her to allow me to share such a tender experience with her! It strengthened my testimony Immensly! That night we just ate again with the cruzados and other families!

Friday- we played basketball early morning with the YSA and like 5 of them are recently returned missionaries and they're ALL ENGAGED hahaha its crazy!! But then there's 3 friends who are non members that come and has been a great experience for us! :) after we played we headed straight to the Dewey's home! They're an old couple that just love us!! We went over for lunch and also to work! We dug up 6 slabs of heavily placed cement in the ground! Lots of work haha then we helped them set up christmas and ate lunch with them while listening to Christmas music :))))) YUH YUH non stop christmas music over here!! Our apartment has a song we go crazy to and were gonna make a music video with it so stay tuned to my emails!! We did some more service and Facebook finding then that night we had our Hot CoCo night at the park and had a ton of convos! We played basketball again but only two people from last time were there and we didnt know them super well so hopefully next week we see our original and regular guys!!

Saturday: we woke up early and had our sports morning! Weve been doing this now for 3 weeks and its progressing well, we invite the youth and kids to the park in their neighborhood where most of the ward lives and we play sports, frisbee and kickball usually! It's beensuper fun.. we then did Christmas lights for a single mom who's trying to make Christmas amazing for her kid! So we helped for awhile. We then had dinner that night with the Penningtons who is the stake President! We also found a couple people to teach this next week and finished out family mission plan idea which weve been implementing in every home! FOR THE FIRST TIME IM GOING TO A MEMBERS HOME FOR DINNER EVERY DAY THIS WEEK!!

Sunday- ELDER PAYNES B DAY!! we went to church and we had incredible speakers!! After church it was so fun to see the progress were making here and the relationships weve created! All the kids weve visited from the families weve been to all came up to us and wanted to talk and hangout!! We all have a goofy relationship but they know when its spiritual time it's time to focus HAHA it amazing! I'll take pictures with these cute kids and friends thisweek!!

WOWZA!! I studied alot of scripture this week! As you know I'm doing the 40 day challenge and it's incredible! I've learned so much from my long studies everyday! I also forgot to mention on Wednesday we had a come follow me at night with a man in our stake that is I think paralyzed but can kinda move his arms! Hes super smart and very knowledgeable so he runs with come follow me with missionaries! We had a great discussion and something testified of to the group from this question,

"What do you feel you need to do to humble yourself before the Lord and show faith in Him in order to receive His promise to “make weak things become strong?"

I loved this because Ether 12 talks so much about this! I was thinking in the ways of missionaries as well! We discussed then started talking about change and the importance of change through Christ! And in verse 14 and so forth it speaks about different people in the Book of Mormon and their faith, it speaks of Nephi and Lehi and it says

"Behold, it was the faith of Nephi and Lehi that wrought the change upon the Lamanites, that they were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost."

I was thinking that's us! Were here bringing change to people! Were hear to give them hope and that bright light of Jesus Christ!! But then I continued thinking the way Lehi and Nephi were so effective and so influential in teaching and preaching this was because they made it happen for themselves! They practiced what they preached! So we all ( as disciples of Christ, full time missionaries, members etc) should do the same! WE NEED TO CHANGE SO THAT WE CAN HELP OTHERS CHANGE!!

AHHHH THE BOOK OF MORMON IS SO POWERFUL!! please please keep reading and get into deep ponderingandd studies! Dont wait DO IT NOW !!! I promise is will compeltly change your life if you go in with such real intent and if you give that time to the lord and use the scriptures and Present Prophets and Apostles now to help you change!!

This  quote I'm about to send relates to you all as members of the church and not full time missionaries, in essence it shouldn't matter but let this quote sink in and think about what you can change and do better to help others around you, the missionaries, family, and yourself to become better!

David A. Bednar - "Ask in faith"

" Asking in faith requires honesty, effort, commitment, and persistence. Let me provide an illustration of what I mean and extend to you an invitation. We properly pray for the safety and success of the full-time missionaries throughout the world. And a common element in many of our prayers is a request that the missionaries will be led to individuals and families who are prepared to receive the message of the Restoration. But ultimately it is my responsibility and your responsibility to find people for the missionaries to teach. Missionaries are full-time teachers; you and I are full-time finders. And you and I as lifelong missionaries should not be praying for the full-time missionaries to do our work!"

FULL TIME FINDERS......

hopefully I didnt write too much! But read that quote again and again until you understand it! Its crucial!!

Ps. I forgot to mention my subject line.. its freezing here today, the low is 27 today and tonight and tmrw its supposed to snow!! OOOO NOOO HAHA  we'll see

LOVE YOU ALL SO SO SO MUCH!!

I am so GRATEFUL!

HEY HEY!! this week was super exciting!! We have been in our new apartment and area now for a week! Makes it so much easier to do missionary work let me tell you haha! I'm so grateful for President Nelson and his message Friday! I think it's so important to show our gratitude to our Heavenly Father and to Jesus Christ!! They are everything to us! Service is a great way to show our gratitude for them and also to everyone else! So weve had alot of chances to serve and SOO MANY MORE on the way! To start off,

Monday night: we ended up going to a non members home! The Schrimsher Family, they are absolutely incredible! Such strong testimonies of Christ and His sacrifice! We got to talk about the bible and that was super fun! We shared psalms 126:5 and we had a great conversation about it and it says, "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy." You have to have those hard times to be able to feel joy!! It was so fun sitting around the fire pit with their 4 kids and talking about that! We are going back over this week and are gonna talk about The Book of Mormon!!!!!!!

Tuesday: I read two talks! Both great and I encourage yall to read them
1. President Oaks, " Sharing the Restored Gospel"
2. Elder Christofferson, " Sharind the message of the Resurrection and Restoration"
President Oaks speaks on ways we can be teachers of the gospel he gives steps, he talks alot about genuine care for people and Chrisy-like love!
Also today I had my first zone conference! It was super cool!! A couple things I loved...
• "Change starts with desire"
• "If it is to be, It is up to me"
• Good, Better, Best principles
• Obedience in EVERYTHING!! And a huge emphasis on making sure that we submit our will to the Lords!!
Tuesday night we went to a families house the Denisions, they are a family of 6 and SO AWESOME!! very very kind family and super fun and easy to connect with! We are going for dinner in 2 weeks! They have a son working for a mission so we got to share a message about a Refiners Fire! If you haven't already I posted something from a person in our area that had their house burn down! He tells a story and it is SOO POWERFUL!! I invite yall to check in out on my Facebook! Then later played basketball with YSA and talked to 3 new non members that go every week, they play Tuesday and Thursday so were excited to start teaching them!

Wednesday: Elder Payne and I have been studying from Topical Guide and studying under all the scriptures under the words we pick! We picked Self-Mastery! Lemme tell ya its INCREDIBLE!! go look at it! So many great things to learn!
Today was the day President Harris gave us new rules..... he wanted us to unfollow everyone on Facebook except our family, and the people in our area, we can still be friends with everyone but unfollowing makes it so we cant see people's post and he felt like that's what needs to happen! Its been amazing and uplifting! So happy for revelation in our lives!!
We ended our day Hours and Hours of service! We did christmas decorations, wood cutting, mulch, painting etc.

Thursday:
We finished our Family mission plan that has a WIDE variety of ideas and things people can do for missionary work! Weve been meeting with families to discuss what goals they wanna make and what they want to do every week! Their are so many ideas that there's something for everyone! We gave service to a man named Roy with the Sisters in our ward after service we talked and all 4 taught him The Restoration! We prayed with him and gave him a Book of Mormon! That night we went to the Newbolds home a family in our ward and taught them! It's a single dad with 3 daughters, he was a fun and cool guy! He was recently divorced and struggling but was so happy we came over, he said our presence made such a difference in his life! Just the Light we brought, that made me so happy!! I'm happy that we could provide that for someone!

Friday: I listened to "His grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox! I won't go in depth because I am not as good of a speaker as he is!! PLEASE GOOOO LISTEN AND STUDY THAT TALK!! ITS AMAZING!!
That afternoon President Nelson gave his Message of Hope and Healing! What a great opportunity we had to all be United at the same time, I FELT HOW POWERFUL THAT WAS ESPECIALLY when he said the prayer!! Just remember the 3 things he invited us to do (BTW hes the prophet and receives revelation from Jesus for the WHOLE WORLD so like if hes telling us to do this I'd do it haha)

1. Turn social media into gratitude journal
( post everyday for 7 days of what you're grateful for)
2. Say a prayer of Thanks to God
3. Build a stronger relationship with our Savior

WOW!!!! Such great inspiration, I invite yall to closer look into this and follow the prophet and Jesus Christ!! This will be such a powerful thing in everyone life and will provide opportunities to meet people and help others come to Christ!!

After this message Elder Payne and I went to dinner with the Stevensons in our ward and I had my first Southern Meal!! "Low country boil" IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICOUS!!!!!!! we got to talk about the message and it was great hearing their testimonies! After dinner is when it got CRAZY FUN! we went to a park with 4 sisters and there was about 7 of us Elders, we set up free Hot CoCo the catch was people would have to sign our poster for what they were grateful for!! We got tons of convos!! Proabbly gave over a 100 cups of coco out! A couple phone numbers too. So there's a basketball court in the park and me, Elder Payne, and our good friend Elder Tarkalson had people playing basketball get Hot coco then we asked if they wanna ball and they said come rn so we did HAHAHA in our proselytizing clothes we played 5 on 5 with all these guys! It was us 3 on a team with a couple guys we met!! We ended up winning out the rest of the games (3games in a row then everyone playing left HAHA)

I HAD A NICE DUNK!! Everyone there went crazy and was like HOLY OH MAN!! haha so that was fun and were gonna do it again this Friday and hopefully set up lessons with these dudes, they were open to it!

Saturday: we had a district car wash from 11-2 and got some new contacts to teach! Super fun HAHA just a great time with Elders! We ended our night from 3-6:30 we gave service to these people ( we sent out a service ad to huge groups in our area and its blowing up) they had leaves everywhere and WE DIDNT EVEN FINISH HAHA we made piles taller then me haha I'll send a video of me jumping in one that was pretty small! But we came back and studied for awhile!! I've been doing the challenge to read the Book of Mormon in 40 days and I'm RIGHT ON TRACK! I encourage yall to continue it! Soooooo

Invitations for this week:
1. Take President Nelson's message to heart and do those 3 things
2. Read the talks (Oaks, Christofferson, Wilcox)

And I just made this one but
3. Send me an email of your favorite Scripture either Bible or Book of Mormon!

FREEDOM!! Time to move!

HEY Y'ALL!! I'm writing this and its currently sunday because tomorrow is pretty busy! Were finally moving into our area so we had sacrament meeting today and now were just packing the whole apartment up and I figured, I'll have time to write my email!

What a week!! highs and those lows! Let me tell ya! So tuesday we had a mission Devotional! President Hilton, one of President Harris's counselors, spoke to us and it was sooo powerful! He spoke about time management with teaching and service. He said something toward the end that hit me... he said, "put on your pants" meaning in the morning wake up roll out and put your pants on, that's how your day will be great! Knowing you woke up on time and have started the day with obedience! Elder Payne and I took that to heart! Weve been good at waking up but.. we wanted to also workout more (that was one of our goals) so we took his challenge literally and every morning since that day weve woken up and put our "shorts on" and go running and workout then come back and start the day! ITS BEEN AMAZING!!

Wednesday: I read a couple of great talks!!
•"We are Enlisted" - Jeffrey R Holland
• "Feed my Sheep" - Jeffrey R Holland
Both outstanding talks, I highly recommend reading them! I cant even explain how I feel about "Feed my Sheep" it is one of the MOST POWERFUL TALKS EVER!! I felt the Spirit so strongly the whole time!
John 21-
Elder Holland talks about when Christ left and Peter and the disciples went back to what they knew, fishing. When they were out fishing they hadn't caught anything someone called out from the shore and said to cast on the right side of the boat, the nets were so full. John said "its him" Peter instantly jumped out and swam to him! Christ asked him, do you love me more then you love fishing? And he said yes lord! Christ said this 3 times and finally after Peter's response, Christ said "FEED MY SHEEP!!" I LOVE THIS!

Do you love him? Do you love him enough to throw away all the worldly things?
Then go and gather Israel and spread the word of Christ to ALLLL!! This is something that's been my focus recently! Nothing else matters! I've been set apart specifically to feed His sheep! I know the least I can do is forget about those worldly things! I want yall to ask yourself what you can do to show that you love him more then you love worldly things and make changes accordingly!!

Thursday: I had a interview with President Harris and we had a great conversation! Figuring out goals, stating some challenges and him helping me! We then had District Council :) after that I read the "Character of Christ" by Elder Bednar! READDDD ITTT it's from the MTC but its is AMAZING!! later that day we had calls and one of them was with a non member and his name is Jim... we had to stop teaching him :( it's very discouraging but it was important to do that. hes been non stop bashing us and telling us were wrong! He read the Book of Mormon but did it with the wrong intentions he did it to prove were wrong and we could see that on how he spoke to us. But we found 3 more people from Facebook! We will teach them this week! The Schrimshers are a family that we found who have been taught and are interested! They are SO AMAZING! And have invited us over this week to hang and talk with them! I'm so excited! We also called a lady in our ward here today, she strengthened my testimony so much, she was just diagnosed with cancer and shes over 60. It was super sad hearing about it and she starts chemo tomorrow. But she said something thatll always stay with me she was crying and talking about her cancer and the great deal of sadness it brought, then there was a pause.... she then said , "but I know with a full surety of my heart that Christ and God are there supporting me all the way through no matter what happens!!" IT WAS SO POWERFUL!!
I KNOW CHRIST IS THERE FOR US!! i know he supports us even tho we might feel abandoned or lost or hopeless!  He loves us and will never EVER leave our side!

Friday: we just studied a ton in Jacob 5 with the allegory of the tame olive tree! Super fun learning more about that! Elder Payne and I got into some deep doctrine in that!! Studied for hours lol we ended up playing basketball for our outside time and we played with some random people at a park it was super fun!! For the last couple days of quarantine President let us watch, "The Legend of Jonny Lingo" which ended out night perfectly!!

Saturday: I started off my day reading
"God will do something Unimaginable" by Elder Uchtdorf! It is a fantastic talk and you should read it lol haha
One quote I like was this
"In the past, we might have been so tied to traditional approaches that it took a pandemic to open our eyes. Perhaps we were still building with sandstone when granite was already available."
He is comparing us and our responsibility in the gospel to the Salt Lake Temple in the early times when they built the foundations!

Then he says this...
"God has revealed and will continue to reveal His almighty hand. The day will come when we will look back and know that during this time of adversity, God was helping us to find better ways—His ways—to build His kingdom on a firm foundation."

Everything with COVID seems crazy and were waiting for things to be back to normal but we shouldn't, this is the time to make things better in our lives and how we live the gospel! Our foundation needs to be build on Christ ways (Granite) and not our ways( Sandstone)! As we seek to do this our perspective will change in this time of adversity and we will change to be how God intends us to become!

Sunday: I FINISHED THE BOOK OF MORMON AGAIN!! I am so happy I've had the opportunity again to finish and to understand it even deeper then before! I'm so excited as well, I started it again today!! My mom challenged me to read in it 40 days from today to Christmas Eve to keep all my focus on Christ!!

I give this invitation to y'all as well!! I'll send the picture my mom sent me but I invite yall to do the same and as you study and ponder look for his attributes and mark them! Get a fresh copy of The Book of Mormon and start!! I know as we do so we can follow council of our Prophet and Apostles and find those attributes of Christ and work on one it and strengthen ourselves and deepen our relationship with Christ! We also had an amazing zone little conversation of zoom before our zone conference this week! We talked more about being a consecrated missionary and something hit me, Christ does not expect us to be perfect consecrated missionaries... its not possible or real but he wants us to be dedicated and progressing consecrated missionaries!! That's what I strive to be!! The last thing I'll end with is a little discouraging but were working through it the lady we taught the Restoration to cancelled on us twice this week, she said she was busy I just hope she will keep learning and striving to understand more! She has a solid testimony already! It's super powerful! So I'll update you there, Elder Payne and I had over 60 conversations with non members! We have 4 that are interested in more and we set up times to talk! So that's exciting!

INVITATIONS AGAIN:
1. both talks by Elder Holland
2. Elder Uchtdorf talk
3. Read Book of Mormon in 40 days

I love you guys so much!! When I send this I'll be done moving and playing basketball and I'm so excited to be FREEEE FROM COVID and to actually go play basketball for the first time with my zone 5 v 5 baby and its indoors!! SO READY!!

Ps. I was negative for COVID, and now I'm out haha

Quarantine week #SUCCESS

WHAT IS UP!!!!! IM SO EXCITED TO SEND AN EMAIL THIS WEEK!! Quarantine stinks but lemme tell you, what a great week of success, growth, and change :) AHHHH HERE WE GO!!

so Tuesday we went and got tested for COVID but you know of course we still don't have our test back so we have to get tested again tomorrow.

Wednesday we met with multiple members in our ward, each and everyone has a different situation and trials going on but they have such strong and powerful testimonies that have completely just strengthened and changed me!!

Thursday is when things started to fall into place, we did Facebook finding which is now like tracking but online haha so we posted multiple things in groups in our areas and commented on things and had SO MANY PEOPLE RESPOND!! we had two people that we started asking questions to and they were super interested and had stories about how they've changed and come closer to Christ! Then we found someone else randomly in our area that met with missionaries a year ago! So we have 3 new people that were gonna teach this week! One of which we talked to on saturday and IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! ( I'll mention it after the rest of the week)

Friday was just a ton of finding and we spoke with a man we’re gonna teach this week, just about our church and he sent us a couple pages of questions that weve been going through! I had such a good study on Friday I read come and belong by Elder Uchtdorf! I learned so much about how its ALL Gods power that accomplishes the work here on earth! He spoke of discipleship and how we can come help and come and belong! It is up to us, it starts with our decision we need to

1. Learn of Christ

2. Study His words

3. Hear Him and Follow Him

I INVITE YOU ALL TO START DOING THIS!! as I have focused on letting God prevail and these three things I've grow so much closer to Him and His Spirit!

Saturday, MY FAVORITE DAY!!!!!!My first full LEGIT lesson!!(Supposed to only be 20 min little convo but ended up being an hour)

The lady we found on Facebook was Andrea she is super open minded and willing to learn everything she can! She had an experience with her husband a couple months ago where her husband passed away in the hospital but came back to life, he saw Christ and Ever since her husband being saved she has done everything she can to come closer to christ and know him personally! She was catholic years ago but said she never felt anything, she said when she starting working on coming closer to Christ she felt the Holy Spirit so strongly!! Her story is truly incredible!

We got to hop on a call with her and we got to know her she said she didn't have a lot of time because of work so we were planning on sharing just a scripture of Christ, Alma 7:11-13 speaking of Jesus Christ and His atonement and how he suffered EVERYTHING FOR US!! we asked what that meant to her and she has a strong testimony of Christ and His atonement! She then asked a question about the Bible and Book of Mormon! Elder Payne and I looked at each other and I guess we were thinking the same thing to teach her The Restoration! We asked her question and then continue to teach and answer her questions! I had the AMAZING OPPORTUNITY teaching of Jospeh Smith and The Book of Mormon to Andrea, I memorized the account of Jospeh and I'm so happy I did, because I prepared the Spirit was so powerful! We then got to bear testimony of The Book of Mormon and of Christ.

She was so grateful that we did and she said that she felt the Spirit! We then invited her to read the intro to the BOM and offered to drop one at her door, she raised one up and said I already have one HAHA!! She was so ready!! IM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS CHANCE I HAD TO TEACH! I know Heavenly Father had prepared both of us! Preparation and Obedience is so important!! I'm excited to teach her again this week and answer the questions for those other two men!

I love you all so much!! This is what I will close with! A quote that has meant so much to me now being a missionary and I know it'll mean a lot to everyone! I want you to ponder this throughout your week this week. Then email me what it meant to you

" We will need to let go of the world, If we want to hang on to Eternity!"

Remember

1. Let God Prevail

2. Learn to Hear His voice

3. Use our energy to help gather Israel

That's how we can hang on to Eternity!

Elder Wold wakes up early to be driven to the Atlanta, Georgia airport, to fly home after completing his 2 year mission!               Wait...
