This week!

This week Elder Wold told us that they put one person on date to be baptized and are teaching 3 more, one which is Tandy. They’re trying to get them to have a baptismal date.

Also, Elder Wold’s comp that hit his head playing basketball last week, was able to go home. He has another comp that goes home before the next transfer

PURITY OF THE TEMPLE!! 🤍

 HOLINESS TO THE LORD!

What a deeper meaning these words now have to me! One of my new companions has an appointment every week in Atlanta and we got permission to stop by the the temple every week as we go! This past week was my first time ever seeing the Atlanta Temple! As I was on the grounds I could feel God's love for me. We were walking to the front door and the Temple President walked out, President Ingrim, we chatted for a bit and he left go home! Our companionship talked for probably 10 min when all of a sudden President Ingrim came back and said he left something inside and invited us to come "STAND IN THE TEMPLE"

Friends and Family! I'm not sure if I've ever felt the spirit stronger in one step through a door! Right when we walked in and stood our companionship looked at each other and were all on the brink of tears! What a sacred experience! I'm so grateful for that tender mercy to learn the deeper meaning of the Temple to me and of the love my Savior and my Heavenly Father have for me! May we all remember that deep love and continually strive to

"STAND IN HOLY PLACES"

MIRACLES have been constant out here in Georgia!

• Emeka is a lady that I've become friends with other the phone! She is a woman who is struggling with family things and with work! We taught her 4 times in the last 2 weeks! She has great potential, Emeka wants to find that love in her family and we taught the Plan of Salvation but are gonna specifically bring up the temple with her! She loves prayers and is excited to come to church again!

• The Peppers family, Sister peppers a older lady told us everything going on in her life! Her two kids live with her and don't do really anything and she takes care of all three of her grandkids and a ex husband who was abusive but has nothing.

When I first went over and saw her house I was like oh wow. I judged. But once we started talking and explained everything to us, all my judgmental thoughts left and I felt terrible but then it was replaced with Pure Love for this daughter of God trying everything to provide for her entire family! She then asked me to give her a blessing, I have never felt more like an instrument in Gods hand til this point! We all were crying with Sara and she gave me the biggest hug!! this miracle taught me so much and helped me understand Christ-like love to the fullest!

• Tandy is our golden person this transfer we have been working with her for a pretty long time! But we are on a new level! She keeps inviting us over more and more!! We have taught her everything twice. The one concern she has is still having a calling, we are bringing bishop this week and we think Tandy will be on date to be baptized by Wednesday! Last time we saw her was at a relief society activity and she gave us a big hug! Tandy Barrett is ready to start her journey on the covenant path!!

• TEMPLE IS OPENING UP SOON IN ATLANTA!!

My studies this past week have been turned continually to General Conference and also Temple Covenants!

the specific covenants being

• Obedience

• Sacrifice

• CONSECRATION

I'm going to share a quote for y'all (it's long sorry haha)

"Consecration is related to and builds upon sacrifice.  The word consecrate means to develop and ‘dedicate to a sacred purpose.’  Sacrifice is what we will offer, surrender, yield, or give up.  Consecration, on the other hand, is to fully develop and dedicate to a sacred purpose. … As we live the law of consecration, we are willing not only to offer anything and everything that we possess for the sake of the gospel—but we also promise to develop and devote our best selves—our time, our talents, and our ever increasing capacity—to the building of the kingdom of God on the earth."

Consecration is not just sacrificing our possessions (worldly things) but to sacrifice ourselves, devote ourselves (obedience) and to develop to ultimately build the kingdom of God here!

I would share more but I am writing way too much but let me end with this pledge/commitment that we have made:

" I will give me and all that I can become, and I will live for the gospel of Jesus Christ. The principle of sacrifice is a lesser-law preparation for the principle of consecration.  Consecration includes and encompasses sacrifice and much more. … True consecration is motivated by charity and produces an increased desire to serve. In these latter days, more is required of us as children of the covenant than our money, substance, and time. We need to consecrate unto the Lord our whole souls"

I know this to be true! Consecration is a higher, holier, and celestial way of living! "Where much is given, much is required!" Let us not only give up the worldly things to the savior but also OUR WHOLE SOULS! I know that as we strive daily to "move the old debris in our life" (President Nelson) we can more fully accomplish the work that we have covenanted to do today!! I will end with this!

Consecration will never be 100 percent achieved in this life! We will fail but just like Elder Ucthdorf said " Because of Jesus Christ, our failures don't have to define us, they can refine us" I know that it is through Jesus Christ that we can be made

PURE, WORTHY, AND CONSECRATED!

I love you all so much and I appreciate the many emails of love and encouragement! Have the best week ever! Keep studying and learning from The Book of Mormon and our latter day Prophet and Apostles!

"Your flourishing Faith will help you turn challenges into unparalleled growth and opportunity."

Love, Elder Wold

Becoming like He is!!

GUYS I AM SO FULL OF JOY RIGHT NOW!! WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND! NOT ONLY WAS IT EASTER AND GENERAL CONFERENCE BUT.... JADE CASH WAS BAPTIZED!! what a special day for her and for all of us!! I'm so extremely grateful for General Conference! What an amazing opportunity to listen to Prophets and Apostles called by God! The Spirit was so strong especially during this specific and special time in the last days! I will talk I about it later

This week we did not find alot of new people but we realized that we had so many lessons with progressing people that we didn't have lots of time to find! and that's okay! We had a lesson with two vietnamese people who do not really know God! They were really accepting and wanna learn more!
• Tandy! The lady we have been working with who knows the Gospel is true but doesnt want a calling because of personal stuff, has been amazing! she watches conference but before that we had a lesson and she is close I promise! We are bringing the bishop to sort out those concerns this week! Hoping to put her on date
• Randy is a man who is progressing! We have a lesson with him tomorrow! He is from Africa and is super ready and excited to learn more!
• samantha is a Roman Catholic!! Who we have talked about the bible with and it's actually not bashing at all but trying to.undertsand! She didn't agree with us until last lesson! We taught about the Plan of Salvation and she understood and has been thinking deeply about it! she is smart and I think she'll change her heart!
• Rachel on the other hand is a Baptist and is really just trying to bash with us and has been super aggressive lately in our discussions so we are gonna drop her here soon and give her time! Our last lesson is this week and we are gonna explain a little bit more from last time then testify and leave.
• Multiple lessons with members and gave them the invitation to read John 20 and watch a video then share conference with friends! and many people did :)
• Vires is a man we did service for and are going back this week to teach him
• Chris is 16 and wants to be baptized he has been taught the 1 lesson so we are gonna hopefully come up with a date this week with him!

Like I said, what a great week!! So happy! :) we have a call with president today for our zone! We watched confernce with The Garvin family for one session then went to the church and watched it with YSA and some ysa leaders! Such a fun time with missionaries and YSA!

GENERAL CONFERENCE:
SO GOOD FIRST OFF!!
Elder Uchtdorf's talk was so good! I realized during his talk he said "God is among us" 4 different times! And I felt that Heavenly Father truly was among us! He Is aware of us and loves us! I was so grateful during this General Conference to pray and ask God to allow the Holy Ghost to testify to me truths and things I need to learn more about and understand more fully! GUYS!! IT WAS TRULY INCREDIBLE!! THE SPIRIT WAS TOTALLY OVERWHELMING TO ME!! I HAVE NEVER FELT IT STRONGER! I FELT IT SURGE THROUGH MY WHOLE ENTIRE BODY!! what an amazing feeling!

I'm gonna spit off some quotes that really hit me!
• " Because He loves us, He challenges us to focus on Him, instead of the things of this mortal world" - President Oaks
What power!! We need to focus on Christ and like my subject line says! Start now to become like he is! That is one major question I had was how can I become more like he is! And wow so many great things to take away I'm excited to re read!
• I was so grateful to hear so much about the Atonement of Jesus Christ! Both the enabling power and the redeeming power!!
Elder Soares, His testimony and talk hit me with the Holy Ghost! This quote I love,
" Through Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice, we can experience a mighty change of mind and heart, bringing a fresh attitude both toward God and life in general"
• I will end with this quote cause I can go on forever! If you want to talk more about it WHICH I HOPE YOU DO , please email me this next Monday and we can share thoughts and feelings of General Conference!

" It is not so much about what we are going through in life, but what we are becoming!"
- Edward Dube!

BECOME AS HE IS!! this is my focus! I am gonna try my best to become as our Savior is! To be a finisher like he was as He went through all pains and afflictions and even death, to develop His attributes especially His Love, Charity, and Compassion for everyone! What an amazing example and role model for us! May we all follow Him and trust Him! May we Turn to Him and become closer to Him! May we become like Him! I know that as we all strive to, we will in time become more like Him! We will be able to be a better instrument in His hands, we will fulfill His Will and Hear His voice clearly! I know that these things are True and I'm so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and His Love for me and His sacrifice for me! I know that it is through Him that we can live with our loving Heavenly Father again!

I love you all!! Keep doing what youre doing and reach out to me if you need anything!!
BECOME AS HE IS!
