Wow it's been 2 weeks again!! I'm so sorry y'all! It has been the busiest, craziest, bestest weeks ever!! The first week we had MLC (mission leadership conference) so I didn't have time and so I'm here now :) LITERALLY MIRACLES ALL AROUND!!!!
• KENFORD!!! oh man this guy is a stud! He came in as a self referral and we called him and he didn't answer but we felt prompted to wait and not call a second time. 5 min later he called back and told us that he wants to study with us! So we set up a day! When this day came it was Elder Killpack and I on an exchange with one of our AP's and we taught him The Plan of Salvation! He loves families and we really talked about our Heavenly Father and where he can continue to find the light and how he can come closer to the light (so the 3 of us were inspired to do that interesting enough) literally during the lesson we all look at each other and start talking about baptism and Kenford just had an even bigger smile! Long story short he is on date to be baptized on May 22nd
• Andrel!! What an amazing lady she has a cute 1 year old named Blessing she is adorable! We taught her The Restoration and tied it in to baptism perfectly! She loved and understood the reason for the Restoration and as we asked about baptism she told us about how she wasn’t ready and felt like it was wrong, so we set a date for June 26 and she said that is perfect and we will work toward it!
• Gloria! HOLY COW THIS IS A STORY!!
We taught Gloria, on saturday about The Plan of Salvation she loved it especially because of families, she has a cute 4 year old daughter named Hope! They came to Church the next day, right before church started we were looking for her and Hope and we didn't see them! All of a sudden she walked in and went and sat by the Cash's!!! Sister Cash and Gloria are co workers!! WHAT IN THE MIRACLE! Sister Cash's daughter Jade is the one we baptized last transfer! So Gloria came the last 2 weeks! We are going to put her on date this week! SHE IS SOOOO READY!!
• Tandy is a lady you've heard a lot about! Her and I have gained a close relationship and as I led out one of the lessons we taught her, I felt inspired to leave a certain commitment with her, she denied politely... honestly not sure why I had the prompting but let me tell you! I know that she is ready to be baptized, I know her back story and about her family members in the spirit world and I know they are waiting for her to make that decision so that she can be blessed and so that she can bless others like her son! I felt comforted that the commitment she denied will hit her, not sure when and I might not see the fruits of my labors here but I know she will get there!
I forgot to mention a guy named Jordon we just received as a referral! He is actually also ready for baptism lol we were gonna put him on date but a concern arose so after we teach him this week we are planning to put him on date/set a goal to be baptized!
What a wonderful 2 weeks! Every day of these 2 weeks were full of lessons! I am extremely grateful for the chance that I have to be an instrument in the Lord's hands!! I love this scripture!
Alma 26:3
"And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work"
This is the greatest blessing we have! To be an instrument in the Lord’s hand! I love the analogy of each of us individually being the Sickle and Christ is the one using us to harvest!
We need to be sharpened, tempered, and refined to further his work! This entails us to be worthy, be committed, putting forth effort, and being grateful!
" Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind" (D&C 64:34)
Ultimately it comes down to this, we need to be fully committed to putting our whole heart and mind into the work of our Lord!
I love the phrase " ALL IN". That is something we have been hitting on a lot lately and I think of this scripture,
"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it." (Mark 8:35)
My question is what are you going to do to lose your life in the greatest work that has ever occurred in the history of existence!?
Because I know and can promise you that if you put forth your efforts and be committed and have gratitude for everything, you will save your life at the last day I promise!
I wanna leave 2 quotes with you so hopefully you'll take this to your heart and go out and do like Nephi... because as we know, "the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." (1 Nephi 3:7)
He has given us this work and he expects everything from us not just missionaries but everyone especially those who have the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have been raised in the restored gospel! " by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon out garments" (Jacob 1:19)
So that was deep but this matters so much! We have people around us and all over that need us! They need us to bless them, they need us to love them, they need us to give them the truth! There have been so many people out here that I know with a surety of my heart I was supposed to meet and I was supposed to teach and help them come unto the covenant path!! I have had spiritual confirmations over and over again!! THIS WORK IS FOR OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!! IT IS HIS WORK! but oh how lucky we are to be such a big influence and tool in his hands to bring souls unto Him!!
“God be thanked for the glorious gospel of His Beloved Son, restored to earth. May we remember that each of us has the privilege and opportunity to make our own declaration of faith, courage, and truth that will help bring to fulfillment the God-given mandate command to take the gospel to the world." Preisdent Hinckley
I want each of you back home to take this upon yourself! We all are on our missions, my mission will continue forever! I love you all! I want you to remember these 3 things:
1. Commitment
- Be all in
- live and understand all your covenants you've made
2. Effort
- attack every morning
- be physically, spiritually, and mentally prepared
3. Gratitude
- every opportunity to share the Gospel is a blessing
- Express gratitude openly and often
- Acknowledge the Lords hand in all you do
This was super duper long and I apologize but, this is something that means a great deal to me and I want us all to be bought in! I love you all so much! Have the greatest of weeks, make sure that any opportunity that arises, do something Christ would do! I love being a missionary for my Savior!
Love, Elder Wold
